Company Recovers £30,000 after fraudsters hack into PBX

This UK company was with a client of a well-established call carrier when bills for £30,000 were added to their usual charges – and Direct Debits taken for the amounts. We found that the client’s PBX had been hacked by a criminal gang and £30,000 worth of calls had been made to overseas Premium Rate numbers. Our comprehensive analysis identified the cause and made arrangements to secure the PBX against recurrence. We then advised the client on their contractual position and the obligations of their supplier and they successfully negotiated the return of the excess charges.
